Privacy Policy
Puzzletivity is a brand of Inboxsmith, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through puzzletivity.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it plainly.
Who This Site Is For
This site is directed at adults, such as parents and people buying a gift. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We do not track children or build profiles of them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Information We Collect Today
- Email address. If you sign up for launch notices or a free printable sampler, we collect the email address you enter.
- Messages you send. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
- Basic server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability.
Right now this site does not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising. We do count visits and clicks in aggregate, using our own server. That count sets no cookie, keeps no name or other text you type, and uses an anonymous visit key that changes every day.
Free Printable Samplers
If you ask for a free printable sampler, we collect the email address you enter and a record of when you agreed to receive emails from us. We do not ask for a child's name or any detail about a child. The sampler forms are for adults 18 and over.
We use your email address to send a confirmation message, the link to the sampler, two follow-up emails about our books in the first week, and occasional emails about Puzzletivity books after that. We do not sell your email address.
We keep your email address and your consent record (the time and the internet address you signed up from) in our own database on Cloudflare. Resend sends our emails for us and handles your address under its own privacy policy.
The sampler sign-up and download pages run no advertising pixel and set no cookies. They use the same cookie-free, aggregate visit count described above, which keeps no email address or other text you type.
We do not track whether you open our emails or select the links in them.
Unsubscribing and Deletion
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Select it and we stop sending. You can also email us to unsubscribe, or to ask us to delete your email address and consent record. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-send list so that we do not email you again. You can ask us to remove it from that list too.
Information We Will Collect When the Shop Opens
When we start selling books, we will collect what is needed to fill your order: your name, shipping address, email address, and order details. Payment is handled by Stripe (see below), and we do not see or store your full card number.
Child's First Name (Personalized Books)
A personalized book needs a first name for each book. We collect it from the adult placing the order, through the form on the book's page. We do not collect it from children, and we do not contact children or build profiles of them. This is exactly what happens to it.
- What we store. The first name as you typed it, plus the forms of it needed to build the book, such as the capital-letter version used in the word searches and the title form (for example “Mike's”). It is kept with your order record. We do not put the name in web addresses or write it to our own activity logs.
- Gift line. The optional gift line on a gift cover (for example “From your brother Jacob”) is stored the same way as the name, inside the order record for about 90 days, goes to Lulu only inside the print file, and is never sold or used in our ads or analytics.
- How long we keep it. The order record, including the name, is kept for about 90 days and then deleted automatically. The print files built with the name are kept in our private storage only until printing starts, and are then removed.
- Who handles it. Cloudflare hosts our website and holds our order records and the temporary print files. Lulu, our print-on-demand partner, receives the print files, which contain the name, in order to print the book, and handles them under its own privacy policy. Stripe processes payment and does not receive the child's name. The print files are built on computers we operate.
- Never sold, never in ads. We never sell a child's first name. We never use it in our ads, and we never send it to Meta or any other advertising platform.
- Checks. We run automated checks on every name before it is printed. A small number of names are also looked at by a person, only to decide whether the book can be printed.
- Deleting it. Email us and we will delete the name from our order records. We cannot unprint a book that has already been printed, and payment and print-partner records are kept under those providers' own policies.
How We Use Information
- To send the launch notice you asked for.
- To send the sampler and the emails you asked for.
- To process, print, ship, and support orders once the shop is open.
- To answer your questions and handle replacements or refunds.
- To keep the site secure and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service Providers We Use or Plan to Use
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- Resend sends our emails to people who sign up for a free sampler. Cloudflare stores their email address and consent record.
- Stripe will process payments once the shop opens. Stripe collects your payment details directly and handles them under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details, not your full card number.
- A print-on-demand partner in the United States will receive your name, shipping address, email address and phone number so that they can print and ship your order.
- Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your package.
- Meta pixel. We plan to place a Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel on this site in the future so we can measure our advertising and show our ads to people who may be interested in them. The pixel is not installed today. When it is, it will collect information such as pages viewed and purchases made, and it will use cookies. We will update this policy and provide a way to opt out before it goes live. You can also manage ad preferences in your Meta account settings.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep your launch-notice or sampler sign-up email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Order records are kept for about 90 days so we can support your order. The details we pass to our print partner (name, shipping address, email address and phone number) are part of those records. Payment and tax records held by Stripe and in our accounts are kept for as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Support emails are kept for as long as they remain useful for helping you.
Your Choices
- You can unsubscribe from launch notices at any time by replying to any message or emailing us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing us. We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the time required by applicable law.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law, such as the right to know what we hold about you or to opt out of targeted advertising. Contact us to use them.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to personal information to the people and providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the change is significant, such as adding the Meta pixel or opening the shop, we will update this page before it takes effect.
